Owned and operated by Ramsay Health Care Beleura Private Hospital is a 157 bed facility providing a broad range of services including medical / surgical, mental health and rehabilitation
The Opportunity
Balcombe Ward is a 25 bed medical /surgical ward and rare opportunity exists for a dynamic, customer service focused professional to apply for a permanent part time position as a ward clerk. The successful applicant will be part of a multi-disciplinary team liaising with staff, customers and the general public. This is an exciting and pivotal role for an individual with exceptional customer service skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Management of incoming and outgoing telephone calls
Updating of the patient management system
Management of patient medical records
Liaise with other hospital departments and other members of the team
Coordinate internal and external patient appointments and booking of transport for appointments
Assisting with making discharge arrangements for patients
Essential Criteria
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills and ability to deal with a wide range of stakeholders
- Ability to use initiative and demonstrate reliability
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to prioritise tasks and organise own time to meet deadlines
- Advanced computer literacy
- Commitment to providing excellent customer service
Desirable Criteria
- Certificate in medical terminology
- Previous experience as a ward clerk in a medical / surgical ward
- Experience with patient management systems particularly Meditech
