About the role:

Our Dental Care Centre in Lithgow is growing and we are looking for a Trainee Dental Assistant to join our patient focused, close-knit team, to support the excellent clinical care we provide our members. The Trainee Dental Assistant will be enrolled to complete a Certificate 3 in Dental Assisting and finish all competencies in the required 12-month time frame.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Clean and maintain clinical instruments and equipment in accordance with manufacturers recommendations
  • Prepare the dental clinic for oral health care procedures
  • Assist the dental operator during oral health care procedures
  • Clean and sterilise dental procedural instruments and handpieces
  • Maintain hygiene and wear personal protective equipment
  • Disposal of dental waste safely, following safe work practices
  • Follow workplace procedures for hazard identification and risk control
  • Communicate effectively with patients, staff and visitors
  • Observe patient confidentiality and privacy regulations at all times
  • Ensure the care and welfare of patients in a friendly, helpful and courteous manner
  • Other duties as necessary for the efficient operation of the centre
