Occupational Therapist - Community Mental Health Drug & Alcohol Services The Community Mental Health Drug & Alcohol Service Acute & Continuing Care team performs extended hours acute mental health assessment to people of all ages, and care planning / mental health clinical case management services for adults experiencing mental health drug and alcohol problems or severe behavioural and psychological symptoms. Clinical functions also include: specialist consultation and liaison services across a variety of settings, capacity building such as education and training activities with key services, carers and communities and mental health promotion, prevention and early intervention activities, such as suicide prevention.Employment Type: Permanent Full Time Position Classification: Occupational Therapist Lvl 3 Remuneration: $95,325.00 - $98,516.00 pa Hours Per Week: 38 Requisition ID: REQ51221 Number of FTE: 1.00 Applications Close: 26 Jul 2018 This is a targeted position in accordance with the Government Sector Employment Rule 26, Employment of eligible persons. What you'll be doing The Occupational Therapist - Community Mental Health Drug & Alcohol Services is an integral part of the multidisciplinary Acute & Continuing Care team, providing quality services to patients/clients of the WNSW Local Health District in order to meet their health and wellbeing needs. Selection Criteria A bachelor or post graduate degree in Occupational Therapy with current authority to practice as an Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Knowledge, skills and experience to meet the requirements of the NSW Health Professionals Award Level 2, and a licence to drive in NSW with the ability to drive occasionally for work purposes.Knowledge of relevant contemporary MHDA practice, rural service provision and practical application of relevant MHDA legislation and policy.Demonstrated proficient written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.Extensive specialist or broad generalist knowledge, clinical proficiency and ability to work with minimal supervision, and collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.Ability to effectively prioritise and organise own work / caseload and deliver care with integrity and accountability.Demonstrated commitment to professional development, quality improvement and evidence based practice.Demonstrated ability to lead planning and evaluation of team activities.Demonstrated ability to provide and coordinate staff and student supervision.
