Where you will be working
Young District Hospital provides emergency, medical, surgical, and maternity services. Of the 37 beds, there are 6 surgery beds and five bassinets. Mercy Care Young adjoins the facility and provides a 26 bed sub-acute rehabilitation and palliative care service. A full range of community health services including community nursing, allied health and mental health services are also delivered by the local team and provide outreach to surrounding communities.

What you will be doing
The key function of this position is to provide evidence based assessment, information and treatment for consumers who attend MLHD Community D&A services requiring Opioid Treatment Therapies. This role may involve brief interventions, intake, assessment, initiating and managing planned treatment options, consultation and referral to other agencies, crisis management and opioid treatment case management. The position may also, as required, assist with the provision of support for other D&A consumers during periods of D & A Clinician leave. The position works as part of the larger MHDA team.
Selection Criteria
- Qualification as a Registered Nurse, Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, Welfare Officer or other relevant tertiary qualification within the NSW Health Professionals Award. Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency for Registered Nurses, Psychologists or Occupational Therapists. Eligibility for membership of the peak body professional association for Social Workers, Social Welfare Workers or Counsellors
