What you'll be doing The Safer Pathway Senior Clinician is responsible for implementing the CCLHD Safer Pathway model of care in order to reduce immediate threat to adult and child victims of domestic and family violence. Safer Pathway is key element of “It Stops Here: Standing Together To End Domestic And Family Violence” (which is the NSW Government’s Domestic & Family Violence Framework for Reform). Under Safer Pathway, services are required to work together to create a coordinated, holistic response to victims of domestic violence and their children. Victims will be offered tailored support to meet their immediate and longer term safety, health and wellbeing needs. The position should demonstrate clinical specialty, provide clinical leadership and be active in the areas of service development, service evaluation and staff and student teaching. Qualification of a Degree in Social Work from an accredited course providing eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) (overseas qualifications must supply the AASW Overseas Assessment number) and an eligible NSW Driver Licence and willingness to travel for work. A demonstrated understanding of the current AASW Practice Standards as they relate to the position and a commitment to maintaining a professional skill and knowledge base. Extensive clinical expertise in the areas of violence, abuse and neglect. High level knowledge and understanding of domestic and family violence policies, violence prevention approached and legal issues, including the issues for priority populations such as Aboriginal and CALD communities. Demonstrated ability to manage without direct supervision or with some autonomy, a diverse range of tasks, work under pressure, manage projects and meet tight deadlines. Sound understanding of the NSW health system, its demands and good clinical knowledge in a range of health services e.g. Drug and Alcohol, Emergency Departments, Mental Health, Kids and Families in relation to domestic violence presentations. Proven capacity to analyse, interpret and report on complex clinical and professional issues, including high level skills in risk assessment and decision making. Demonstrated experience in working with databases and computer software applications. Demonstrated high level of effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills including the ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences and the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders throughout all organizational levels. Demonstrated understanding of how the District is Caring for the Coast and how this role would contribute.
