Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 5 – Infection Control

We are seeking a qualified senior Infection Control Nurse to support the leadership of the Infection Control team in the management of the Infection Control program at Austin Health.
The Infection Control Department is an exciting and dynamic area, working closely with the Infectious Diseases and Microbiology Departments to provide a broad range of services and activities across Austin Health, including infection surveillance, hand hygiene auditing, environmental auditing education, Standard 3 accreditation preparation, outbreak management, and exposure management.
As the Deputy Manager, you will assist the Manager of Infection Control with the daily management of the Infection Control team to ensure effective delivery of the organisational infection control objective to maintain a microbiologically safe environment for patients, staff and visitors. This will involve building relationships across Austin Health to provide expert evidence based advice and facilitate effective communication to all departments. You will also actively participate in multidisciplinary and nursing committees to promote Infection Control best practice
To be successful in this role, you will hold a formal Infection Control or Hospital/Clinical Epidemiology qualification and have extensive experience working in infection control in an acute Tertiary or large community hospital. You also have a successful track-record in managing infection control risks, and leading and coordinating key culture-change programs that have resulted in important clinical improvements in infection control and quality improvement.
