This is a great opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to join an established team supporting patients and families in an outpatient context.
What you'll be doing
The Registered Nurse provides safe, compassionate, person-centred care to patients and families of Sydney Children’s Hospital Network.
The Registered Nurse acts as a role model by demonstrating behaviour and interacting with patients, their families and employees in a way that promotes a culture and standards that reflect the NSW Health CORE values of Collaboration, Openness , Respect and Empowerment.
The Registered Nurse Spina Bifida and Spinal Cord Service will sit in Rehab2Kids and will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary Spina Bifida team to ensure optimal outcomes for patients and their families. The position will be responsible for initiating and performing an annual Patient Data Management System (PDMS) assessment of Spina Bifida patients with their families, liaise with the PDMS physiotherapist and manage and maintain the PDMS database. The RN will also be able to participate in administration of nitrous oxide or recovery role in the Botulinum Toxin (nitrous sedation) clinic as required.
- Registered Nurse with a current Licence to practice from Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Relevant recent experience as a Registered Nurse in a hospital setting.
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team member in a multidisciplinary team.
- Effective time management skills.
- Computer literacy
- Previous experience with nitrous sedation administration or a willingness to participate in accrediation for the adminsitration of nitrous oxide.
