Allied Health (Science) Translational Research Fellow 

 

Eastern Health is one of Melbourne’s largest public health services. We provide a comprehensive range of high quality acute, sub-acute, palliative care, mental health, drug and alcohol, residential care and community health services to people and communities that are diverse in culture, age, socio-economic status, population and healthcare needs.

 

The successful applicant will have a qualification in a profession recognised as an Allied Health (Sciences) and covered by  the Allied Health Professionals Agreement.  While undertaking your PhD or a Master by research, you will work with allied health (sciences) professionals at Eastern Health to build capacity and capability in translational research.  You will receive mentorship from a senior academic throughout your tenure and receive additional support by being part of the Eastern Health Allied Health Clinical Research Office.

 

To be successful in this role you should possess:

  • strong research skills and experience in the use of routine data
  • high level of analytical thinking and investigative skills in research
  • ability, knowledge and experience to lead research projects
  • ability, knowledge and experience to advise on and provide input into research projects  
  • strength in establishing and maintaining research collaborations
  • interpersonal skills, including high level of oral and written communication skills
  • ability to access, link and analyse routine health care data and construct patient cohorts to investigate targeted clinical research questions
  • knowledge and membership of relevant community and professional organisations
  • A commitment to maintaining up-to-date, clinical knowledge through professional development and literature
  • Current  registration with AHPRA 
  • Highly developed interpersonal and leadership experience
  • A strong commitment to high quality care
  • The ability to work as part of a diverse team
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
