What you'll be doing
Provide operational direction and leadership of the Mid Western Brain Injury Rehabilitation Program (MWBIRP) to ensure high quality and consistent delivery of contemporary brain injury rehabilitation in line with the principles and guidelines of the NSW Brain Injury Rehabilitation Program.  Represent MWBIRP at state level (Agency for Clinical Intervention Brain Injury Rehabilitation Directorate) for the purpose of service evaluation and improvement, statewide co-ordination and policy development relevant to brain injury rehabilitation.


Selection Criteria

  1. Tertiary qualification in a relevant health discipline (speech pathology, occupational therapy, social work, psychology, dietetics, physiotherapy) and eligibility for membership of the appropriate Australian association in the discipline or current registration with AHPRA, AND current licence to drive in NSW and willingness to travel as needed to meet the requirements of the role.
  2. Extensive knowledge of and clinical experience working with people with brain injury, including a demonstrated understanding of behavioural, cognitive, communication and psychosocial interventions and a commitment to the principles of brain injury rehabilitation with a focus on life skills and community participation. These skills required to assist other team members with complex clients and also to provide direct clinical assessment or intervention in the manager’s professional discipline as required and as priorities permit.
  3. Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, communication (oral and written, including the production of comprehensive reports and briefings), negotiation and conflict resolution skills to effectively engage and collaborate with managers and members of the multidisciplinary team of senior clinicians and external stakeholders.
  4. Demonstrated successful experience in strategic planning, evaluation, data management and facilitating change and the use of computers as a business tool.
  5. Demonstrated leadership capability and the ability to develop and maintain a strong clinical team incorporating different disciplines and occupational groups.
  6. Demonstrated ability to critically appraise and integrate relevant research findings so as to enhance clinical interventions and improve the quality of service provided to service users.
  7. Demonstrated ability to manage human, financial and physical resources effectively and efficiently to meet budget and performance targets.
