Sydney Adventist Hospital (the SAN), an entity of Adventist HealthCare Limited, is a “not for profit” teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Sydney and is the largest private hospital in NSW.  With a capacity of over 550 licensed overnight beds, the SAN provides acute medical, surgical and obstetric care. This includes complex cardiac, orthopaedic, neurosurgical, cancer, emergency, diagnostic and outpatient services.

Due to retirement, a full timePatient Access and Administration Manager position has become available within the Patient Services Department. This is an exciting opportunity for the successful applicant to assume responsibility for all customer service and patient administration processes associated with pre admission, admission, outpatient registration, front line receptions, concierge, hospital switch and mailroom.

This role places the successful candidate in an ideal position to be influential in Sydney Adventist Hospital’s continuous quality improvement programs.

The successful applicant will possess the following essential criteria:

  • Extensive current knowledge and experience in Private Hospital funding, patient administration, and front line customer service
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in managing complex patient scenarios in an ethical, empathetic and decisive manner
  • Extensive experience and success in the delivery of exceptional customer service in a hospital setting
  • A strong belief and understanding of automated patient administration processes
  • A proven track record in successful change management in a complex hospital setting
  • An innovative approach to problem solving
  • Excellent leadership and mentoring skills necessary to support the transition from paper to paperless processes and automated workflows
  • Experience managing staff of over 15 FTEs and casual pool across diverse teams and responsibilities
  • Experience and competence in planning, chairing and minuting staff meetings
  • Excellent written and oral communication, organisational and planning skills
  • Flexible, adaptable and the ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Experience with SanApps or an equivalent ‘PAS’ computer system
  • Microsoft Office Skills – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
