About the Role
You will work in collaboration with our Disability and Intensive Foster Care programs across Brisbane, delivering therapeutic supports to young people in addition to services to people with a disability under the NDIS.

This position is being offered on a 12 month maximum term contract. This position is part time with flexible hours, (days are negotiable, including the possibility of more days if required). 

 
Key Responsibilities

• Provide high quality clinical and therapeutic supports to adults and young people including assessment, planning and counselling.
• Delivering training, coaching and mentoring to carers and staff in delivering trauma informed positive behaviour support.

  
Skills & Experience

• Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy or Social Work including eligibility for registration or professional membership in psychology, social work, speech and language pathology or another allied health field.
• Sound working knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, regulations and guidelines that pertain to supporting children and clients in QLD.
• Sound knowledge of the NDIS and national safeguarding framework.
• Knowledge of current clinical best practice in the area of positive behaviour support and trauma informed care.
• Advanced skills in delivering clinical assessments and developing plans and interventions.
• Significant experience working with and supporting parents and carers, developing strategies, interventions and plans for young people who display challenging behaviours and/or mental health issues.
• Ability to train, coach, motivate and guide carers and other staff while working as a member of a therapeutic team.
• Ability to consult and collaborate with parents, clients and other key stakeholders using appropriate and clear communication.
• Strong negotiation and counselling skills.
• Effective time management and organisational skills.
• Ability to use initiative and think laterally and strategically.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work within and demonstrate the LWB Way in all interactions.
• Current driver's license.

  
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
