About the Role
We are currently seeking applications for the part-time role (30 hours per week) of Intensive Family Support (IFS) Case Worker located at our Greater Townsville Region venue.
The purpose of this position is to deliver a range of intensive support services using a systematic case management model, to families with children aged between 0-10 years who are considered to be vulnerable.
The key responsibilities of this position include:
- Implement a case management approach to build strengths within families to support the needs of children.
- Conduct child and family assessments to determine strengths and needs of the family.
- Develop, implement and evaluate action plans to address client needs.
- Work collaboratively with service providers and networks to ensure families have access to services as required using local referral protocols.
- Provide individual and family counselling services as indicated, referral to external therapeutic services as needed.
Work days/hours will be negotiated with the successful applicant, however please note that the position holder will be required to work an afternoon shift (to 5pm) up to once a week, with some flexibility needed in order to meet business requirements.
About You
To be successful in this position, you will have appropriate tertiary qualifications in social or behaviour sciences coupled with relevant experience in the delivery of services to families who are considered to be vulnerable. You will have theoretical knowledge of family systems and strengths based approaches to working with children, young people and families. In addition, demonstrated experience in the management of cases involving DFV is highly desirable. Experience in youth work is advantageous.
The salary being offered is circa $54,701 to $77,041 per annum (pro rata for part-time), to be negotiated depending upon qualifications and experience, plus superannuation and generous salary packaging options where eligible which will significantly increase the value of take-home pay. Other attractive benefits are available including additional annual leave over the Christmas period, annual leave loading and study leave.
