Where you'll be working Location to be determined, possible locations are Croydon, Canterbury and Camperdown sectors What you'll be doing The Clinical Nurse Educator provides support and clinical development/ training to staff while fostering a preceptor/mentor role. The role formulates, coordinates, and evaluates unit based educational programs; assessment and demonstration of clinical procedures. The aim of the position is to use a participation methodology to build: The capacity of individuals to deliver safe, evidenced based care, incorporating reflective practice with the aim of continual improvement. A patient and family focused culture that supports the NUM and staff to deliver innovative models of care and proactively manage change. The position contributes to the overall improvement of health service delivery. To be considered for this role you must a qualification in Child and Family Health. Selection Criteria Current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) and relevant post registration experience in the specialty. Holds relevant clinical or education post registration qualifications, or such education and clinical experience deemed appropriate by the employer. Demonstrated understanding and experience in various teaching methodologies including the ability to plan, conduct and evaluate unit based education. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to education and promotion of evidenced based practice and knowledge translation Well-developed leadership, communication skills and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability liaise in a multidisciplinary environment Demonstrated ability to work professionally in a team and be self-directed with time management and prioritising skills. Computer skills including word processing, presentation, spread sheet applications and clinical information systems.
