Little Window is currently recruiting for a suitable qualified (fully registered) Psychologist to join our unique private practice. We are looking for individuals who can work 3-4 days per week. 

Little Window is a psychology and counselling private practice based in Greenslopes (Stones Corner) on the South of Brisbane. We provide individual counselling for adults, couples, adolescents, children and families. We have a relaxed and cosy therapy space that encourages clients to feel safe and comfortable. Little Window has expanded into a larger therapy space (a heritage listed house) with 6 therapy rooms, including a play therapy room, a variety of adult counselling rooms, art therapy spaces and adolescent-specific spaces. Our client base is diverse and as we are a well established practice, your case load will build quickly. We are hoping to fill this role mid August - beginning of September 2018.

Job description:

• Seeking fully registered psychologist interested in holistic health and wellness.
• Contract position – 3-4 days per week with the option of weekend work.
• Location: south side of Brisbane – Greenslopes (Stones Corner)
• Work in a small and fun team that is motivated and passionate about supporting individuals to reconnect with themselves and work towards wellness.
• Supportive and nurturing work environment with opportunities for connection, individual and team supervision. 
• Provide counselling to a wide range of clients, from children to families to individual adults with a variety of mental health concerns.  Face to face, phone and email contact with clients.
• Admin duties such as case noting, psychology reports, liaising with external services, greeting clients, and sharing responsibilities in caring for the Little Window Therapy Space.
• Regular individual and team supervision support.
• Report to Practice Manager.

Role and responsibilities:

• Provide counselling services to individuals in a private practice setting.
• Prepare written reports relating to client matters (e.g., case notes, psychology reports, GP letters, referrals and case reviews). 
• Liaise with external services. 
• Advocate for clients and provide appropriate referrals if required. 
• Opportunities for group work.

Essential requirements:

• Counselling experience of least 5 or more years, as well as experience and willingness to work with a broad range of clients, including children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. 
• Full psychology registration with AHPRA or full mental health social work registration (ability to provide Medicare rebate).
• Eligibility for full/associate APS membership.
• Eligibility for indemnity insurance. 
• Enthusiastic, warm, motivated, organised, reliable, and flexible.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Can thrive in a team environment.
• Able to work in a self-directed manner, as well as able to work effectively in a team.
• Comfortable with dogs - We have a trained therapy dog, Zumi, who is at the practice full-time.

Desirable qualities:

• Attention to detail.
• Previous experience working in private practice.
• Compassionate, person-centred therapist.
• Interest in holistic health and wellness.
• Experience working with trauma.
• Creative, play, and expressive therapy skills desirable but not essential.

Renumeration:

• Between $70 - $80 per hour depending on level of experience and expertise.
