About the opportunity
The Anchor program is nationally renowned for its approaches for working with children impacted by parental conflict following family separation. We strive to find new hope and new beginnings through providing professional, community based counselling, group programs and support for other professionals.
Embrace pioneering best practice as a Child and Family Therapist in our Parramatta Office. You will provide individual counselling and group programs for children impacted by conflict between their parents following separation and engage with parents to assist them to better support their children.
Due to growth within the team we have 2 positions available. A full time permanent position that will see you work Mon-Fri 35 hours a week and a Part Time fixed term contract until June 2019 working Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work or Counselling.
- Eligibility for membership of relevant professional body (e.g. AASW, APS, PACFA).
- Minimum two years previous experience providing individual counselling to children.
- Demonstrated knowledge of / training in systemic family therapy.
- Competence in working with issues of violence.
- Demonstrated ability to manage high conflict individuals, couples and families with complex issues.
- Understanding of Child Protection issues.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as be able to contribute to the functioning of a team.
- Excellent communication, organisation and report writing skills.
