The W@S Special Care Nursery is a level 3 nursery, co-located within the Maternity unit at Sandringham Hospital. The nursery recently completed capital works to increase the capacity the of unit to a 8 cot nursery.  In the future the newly renovated unit will transition towards a level 4 special care unit. The Special Care unit works in partnership with Maternity Services aiming to keep mothers and babies together and supports the neonatal system as a whole, accepting transfers of suitable babies from tertiary hospitals for ongoing care and support in preparation for discharge from hospital.

Your contribution  

This role provides the provision of care to infants in the Special Care Nursery and support as appropriate to their families

Your duties will include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Provision of care in accordance to the Policy and procedures of the neonatal services.
  • Actively participate in Quality & Safety, Infection Control, and research projects, and the to support the enhancement of care provision
  • Actively supports and participates in the development and review of procedure and guidelines within SCN

 About you

To be successful within this role you will need to have:

  • Registered Nurse/Midwife qualifications
  • Special Care Nursing experience
