About the business
Southern Cross has been supporting people in their communities throughout NSW, QLD, SA, VIC and ACT since 1984. We arrange the provision of an extensive range of aged support and disability services for people in their private home and community.
Southern Cross is a well-established National Community Care organisation that cares for people of all ages who have a wide variety of physical, intellectual and age-related disabilities (such as spinal cord injuries, ventilator dependency, acquired brain injuries and dementia).

- Full Time
- Call centre (phone based) role working in the National Contact Centre in Parramatta
- Main hours: 9am-5pm Monday to Friday
- After hours On-call: This role requires participation in after-hours on-call support rotating roster
- Setting up and coordinating rosters for teams of care workers
- Filling vacant shifts due to cancellation
- Recruiting, orientating and monitoring Workers to ensure delivery of services
- Navigating challenging situations to ensure quality services are delivered to those in need in the community
- Working in a team-based environment, supporting colleagues and 'chipping in' where required
- Adhering to policies, procedures and quality standards
Working in a highly supported environment, you will receive an in-depth orientation and we will support ongoing education.
Skills and experience
Successful applicants must have a genuine interest in making a difference in the community and to the lives of those in need.
You will be able to demonstrate a confident and friendly manner, strength, resilience, self-motivation and determination. You will also have a mature outlook, problem solving skills, an ability to listen and work respectfully and appropriately with people from diverse backgrounds, including those with physical and intellectual disabilities.
You will require attention to detail and recognise that this is not a general administration role, but a people-focused position that is responsible for rostering workers to deliver much needed services to people (with a diverse range of physical, intellectual and age-related disabilities) in the community.
