This role is located in Rangiora, Canterbury in the South Island of NZ.  Our preferred candidate will either live locally or relocate for this role.

The Role

Reporting to the Planning Manager, you will assist the planning team in ensuring all resource consents and district plan functions and processes are efficiently and effectively delivered in accordance with relevant legislation, including the Resource Management Act. The Team Leader Resource Consents provides a critical role in leading and organising resource consent processing, providing mentoring and coaching to the team, and ensuring professional advice is given to the general public and other internal customers.

 

Your Skills and Experience

To be successful you will have contemporary knowledge relevant to resource consent processing and writing resource consent conditions. You will require proven experience in processing and managing resource consent applications, exceptional time management skills, project and workflow management, and the ability to meet strict deadlines. Your strong communication and relationship building skills will be crucial to your success, as will your adaptability to changing situations. You will be a strategic thinker with a constant focus on customer needs. The successful person will have a relevant qualification and experience within local government or a consultancy environment.
