Your role
It could be spare parts for helicopters, new uniforms, provisions for a major deployment, or a delivery of state of the art missiles. Keeping a Navy vessel fully equipped, resourced and operating at the highest level of readiness is a major challenge.
In the critical role of Logistics Manager (Maritime Logistics Officer) you'll manage the availability and delivery of everything from catering supplies to ammunition. You'll also be in command of a team that supports whole ship operations such as flight deck management.
You don't need any experience to apply for this role as the Navy provides expert training in:
- logistics planning
- resource management
- operational cycles
- whole ship management
- deployment, and
- budgets and financial management.
Specific activities you'll perform include:
- the provision of spare parts for maintenance
- port visit planning and replenishment
- catering and hospitality services
- financial management, and
- the business management of all logistic support functions.
As the Officer responsible for the Logistics department, you will advise Command on the required resource sustainability to meet the capability and readiness needs of your ship. You will learn to have a very good understanding of operational priorities, the impact upon capability, and logistic business practices, to ensure thorough analysis is conducted and the correct decisions are made.

Entry Requirements
- At least 17 years of age
- Australian Citizen
- Year 12 completion with passes in English and three other tertiary accredited subjects
