This role is offered on a Permanent Full Time basis

You duties will include:

  • Investigating and carrying out surveys on Traffic, pedestrian and intersection activity
  • Investigating traffic related complaints and community enquiries.
  • Traffic control during traffic surveys.
  • Managing Council's traffic survey data.
  • Inspecting and arranging maintenance of road signs, road markings and street lighting
  • Issuing and follow up of maintenance works instructions for road signs and markings.
  • Preparation of Works Instructions following Canterbury Bankstown Traffic Committee and Council approval.
  • Other field inspections and actions as and when required.

You will have:

  • Current C Class drivers’ licence
  • RMS Traffic Controller Certificate
  • Knowledge of the Road Rules, RMS and Australian Standards as it relates to regulatory traffic signs and road markings.
  • A demonstrated ability to interpret contract documents, specifications and drawings
  • An ability to identify defects and appropriate solutions including a working knowledge of factors affecting asset condition, preventative measures and remedial treatments
  • Good Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good data entry, record keeping and report writing skills
  • Sound knowledge, understanding and application of WHS requirements

This position requires a Pre-Placement Health Assessment in the interest of providing a safe and healthy workplace. The medical will take place at one of Council's chosen providers and will be conducted at Council's expense.
