About the Role
Located in Orange, this role leads and directs a team that provides statistical analysis to support the needs of the Branch. The role also leads, develops and manages long term and large scale research projects with significant elements of econometrics or other forms of statistical analysis. The role will also increasingly have a focus on data management.
 
You will be responsible for:
 
  • Initiating and undertaking quantitative or qualitative research on a wide range of policy issues and publish or distribute the insights arising from this work to the department or the general public as appropriate.
  • Ensuring the rigour and credibility of the methodologies and techniques used by the Data and Statistical Analysis team are in line with best practice.
  • Keeping up to date on statistical techniques and software packages and utilise that knowledge to provide technical leadership to guide the technical development of the team.
  • Building and fostering networks and stakeholder relationships in particular other NSW Government agencies to aid collaboration across the network.
  • Manage, coordinate and lead project teams, including external consultants, to ensure project outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, to agreed standards, within scope and with appropriate risk mitigation.
 
A bit about you
  • You have experience managing data and managing statistical projects.
  • You have experience producing data and statistical advice for audiences without a background in data.
  • You have a tertiary qualification in a field such as mathematics, statistics, economics, or other field undertaking significant statistical analysis, or equivalent experience.
