ABOUT THE ROLE

The Department of Water and Environmental Regulation (DWER) has an exciting opportunity for an experienced, motivated and highly organised Environmental Officer to fill a fixed term full-time position until 30 June 2020 in the Program Integration Section.

The Regional Estuaries Initiative (REI) and its partner the Revitalising Geographe Waterways (RGW) comprise a series of strategies and actions to improve water quality in estuaries, based on good science and evidence of effectiveness. Communicating the science is critically important to the success of the programs since many of the actions depend on changes in behaviour and long adhered to management practices.

Working with a talented team of scientists, you will create content for websites, fact sheets, community friendly reports and technical publications. You will implement and update the Stakeholder Engagement Communications Plan and initiate new communications opportunities across platforms including social media. You will assist in coordinating events, newsletters and training for a range of stakeholders including members of the public, industry groups and our regional delivery partners.
