About the role

This role is responsible for the coordination of privacy and protection of data and information within our Innovation Business Unit. Responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:

  • Working with the business to understand data and information handling practices within the business
  • Reviewing business processes and procedures regularly to ensure they are up-to-date and compliant and undertaking Privacy Risk and Impact Assessments
  • Contributing to the development of a Privacy and Data Management Plan
  • Providing guidance, advice and interpretive support on the application of the relevant acts and associated regulations
  • Providing advice on the general application of the Victorian Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014to new initiatives and general operations
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance privacy training modules for the organisation in conjunction with internal partners

Skills & experience

To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Proven understanding of Privacy and Data Protection legislation.
  • Ability to interpret legislation and relevant policies, regulations and precedents
  • Ability to establish rapport, gain trust, cooperation and assistance from internal and external stakeholders
  • Sound interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with a wide range of stakeholders both internal and external, and at all levels
  • Strong organisational and problem solving skills, including the ability to show sound judgment on sensitive matters
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and work environment
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and also autonomously
  • Attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A proven track record of delivering strategic and operational objectives
  • Ability to prepare clear and succinct briefings and reports.
