About the role:
To effectively contribute to the development and delivery of natural resource management programs and projects in order to protect and restore environmental values of Council’s natural area estate. To prepare planning documents that support management, bush regeneration and other works being undertaken on Council managed natural areas. The position will also be responsible for the delivery of the annual herbicide training program to staff and contractors to ensure responsible use, based on current personal and environmental safety standards and to deliver best practice land management.
About you:
Are you passionate about protecting natural areas and have experience planning, delivering and monitoring natural area programs? Council’s Natural Areas Management team are seeking a technical officer to develop the regions natural areas public profile, monitor contractor performance, prepare reports and deliver training to teams.
To succeed in this role, you will have demonstrated ability to implement and deliver programs related to natural resource management, and with this, possess highly developed written and verbal communication skills. As someone who would be liaising with internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis, you will also have proven ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.

Additionally, you will have tertiary qualifications in either Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Conservation Land Management, or equivalent. You will also have experience in implementing programs related to natural resource management.
