An exciting opportunity exists for a Project Officer - Business Improvement in an ongoing basis, in the Major Projects Unit of Corrections Victoria.
The Business Services Branch provides Corrections Victoria with business support services in the area of contract management, procurement, finance and accounting, asset management and IT development and support.
The Victorian correctional system is currently experiencing a period of growth driven by operational, policy and legislative changes in the criminal justice system. To support the system's growth and sustainability, Corrections Victoria established the Major Projects Unit (MPU) to undertake research and analysis to identify business and efficiency improvement opportunities and establish an annual business improvement program.
The Project Officer - Business Improvement will undertake research and investigates business improvement opportunities across the correctional system. The business improvement opportunities include reviewing business efficiency, process improvements and qualitative reporting in line with correctional objectives and frameworks. The role will develop project scope and documents, provide briefings, undertake report writings and administration for identified major business improvement projects.
As our ideal candidate, you will be required to demonstrate:
- Capacity to undertake project management administration and reporting
- Ability to undertake research and investigation activities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Financial and/or business analysis experience is required for this position
- Sound abilities in conceptual thinking and decision making
Relevant project management qualifications or equivalent experience is also desirable.
