$82,846- $95,898 plus 15.4% Superannuation

The Satellite-Based Augmentation System (SBAS) Engineer is part of a team working within the Positioning Program using Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) technology that will design, build, operate and maintain the Australian SBAS.

As an SBAS Engineer you will:

  • Participate in developing operational requirements
  • Participate in design and procurement processes
  • Participate in installation and commissioning of systems
  • Participate in operations and monitoring
  • Contribute to facilitating cooperation with relevant federal government agencies including for example the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) and Airservices Australia
  • Contribute to the liaison with all international partners, standards organisations and service providers including for example the United Nations International Committee on GNSS (ICG)

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • An understanding of GNSS and SBAS technology
  • An understanding of engineering approaches for the development space, satellite or aviation technology
  • Experience working on complex engineering or development programs
  • Experience working on space, satellite or aviation related projects
  • Experience in building and managing relationships both with internal and external stakeholders
  • An ability to work within teams and adapt quickly to a changing environment
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • A meticulous and well-organised work ethic

To be eligible for this position you must:

  • Have a relevant degree in engineering or closely related discipline
  • Be willing and eligible to obtain Australian Citizenship.
  • Be able to obtain and maintain a Baseline level security clearance or hold a current security clearance of an appropriate level.

Some national and international travel is anticipated.
