Senior Officer, Digital Media

EMV has an incredible opportunity for a Senior Officer, Digital Media to assist in the development of communication requirements of the Emergency Management Commissioner and EMV, by managing and overseeing multi-media and digital communication activities, developing and implementing best practice digital communication strategies and tools and supporting the sector in online emergency management communication.

The key responsibilities for this role will include:

  • Provide strategic direction and oversight to EMV digital strategies and tools including across the development and maintenance of the public facing EMV and VicEmergency websites, and others as required.
  • Lead and support the development of digital tools and solutions on behalf of the organisation through the adoption and rollout of updated technology and innovative solutions to support communications with the community before, during and after emergencies.
  • Develop policy and standards in digital communications to assist in the implementation of best practice communications before, during and after emergencies.
  • Manage the creation and distribution of appropriate digital content to support and promote the organisation's key messages, goals and objectives in line with internal and external communication strategies.

This role may require you to work outside normal business hours and on weekends as needed.  Travel to regional locations may be required.

 To be successful you have:

  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge and experience in the development of best practice digital products and communications;
  • Exceptional IT skills and ability to use various programs related to design, content management and analytics for example MS Office Suite, Adobe CS Suite and Google Analytics;
  • Ability to maintain focus and energy in periods of high intensity and pressure;
  • Demonstrable capability to build common understanding with groups and individuals.
