Position purpose

The Land and Built Environment Program Officer will provide place-based leadership in relation to the delivery of public land management. This includes providing environmental and land use information and advice and public land administration and governance including leasing and licensing.

This position will be part of a collaborative group which is customer-focussed, professional and engaged with the local community.

The role is ideally suited to someone who displays well-developed communication skills, a willingness to learn the fundamentals of public land management and is comfortable with a range of computer programs and methods of electronic documentation management.

Accountabilities

  • Provide land and built environment services to the regional priority public land projects and programs, including guidance and sound advice in accordance with relevant legislation, policies, guidelines and budgets. 
  • Within a specialised legislative and procedural framework, assist in the effective delivery of a range of public/Crown property administration services and property transactions, in accordance with
    departmental and program policies, directions and objectives.
  • Work with other teams within the regional directorate, Forest and Fire Operations and other DELWP divisions to ensure the consistent, integrated and efficient delivery of public land management programs across FFRG and to the community.
  • Identify emerging issues, risks and trends impacting on the successful achievement of objectives and priorities and suggest solutions and options.
  • Contribute to the delivery of group and departmental priorities, and to building an inclusive and high performing workforce that is customer focussed, collaborative, professional and engaged.
