About the Organisation
Destination NSW is a Public Service Executive agency with responsibility for developing and implementing strategies to grow the visitor economy. Our particular focus is on driving tourism and acquiring and developing major sporting and cultural events for Sydney and Regional NSW. In addition, Destination NSW is the major investor in Business Events Sydney with the aim to secure more international conventions, incentive travel reward programs, corporate events and exhibitions for Sydney and Regional NSW.

About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager, Communications, the role leads the Ministerial and Corporate Communications team in maintaining and managing excellent communications channels and relationships between Destination NSW and the NSW State Government. The Director, Ministerial and Corporate Communications ensures all opportunities to support the NSW Government and the Minister for Tourism and Major Events are leveraged for positive benefit, and to achieve our goal to double overnight visitor expenditure by 2020 and maximise the benefits of the visitor economy for NSW.
The successful candidate will have outstanding communication skills and be strategically focused, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships across the ministerial portfolio. The Director, Ministerial and Corporate Communications will work closely with the General Manager, Communications and the Chief Executive Officer in ensuring the management of media announcements and the execution of communications strategies including, media releases, issues management and press conferences and social media are seamlessly executed.
