About the role

Reporting to the Senior Contracts Manager, the Contracts Manager is responsible for providing contractual management support for contracts and subcontracts within RDA, as well as assisting in the development and negotiation of proposals and new contracts.

This role is responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Draft and negotiate contracts and subcontracts, and other agreements (such as non-disclosure agreements);
  • Manage and administer existing and new customer contracts and assist as required in the management and administration of subcontracts in accordance with RDA policies and procedures, ensuring compliance to RDA's contracted terms and identifying and managing contractual risk;
  • Develop, negotiate, and manage Contract Change Proposals (CCP) and assist as required with Subcontract Change Proposals (SCP);
  • Ensure that updated contract versions are available on SharePoint;
  • Maintain the CCP register and customer contracts tracking database;
  • Liaise with Procurement and safeguard that changes to customer contracts are flowed down and reflected in sub-contracts;
  • Support the development of new business opportunities including drafting, consolidating, processing, tracking, and recording of offers, bids and tenders;
  • Represent RDA in contract and/or subcontract negotiations (including CCPs, and SCPs as required) as well as at progress and other meetings with customers and suppliers;
  • Providing routine and ad hoc reports, and contractual assistance, as required; and,
  • Fulfil other tasks as directed by the Senior Contracts Manager.

As the successful applicant you will have:

  • Experience in proposal development, contract and/or subcontract negotiation, contracts management and administration experience, preferably in relation to Australian Government major projects;
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite including Microsoft Explorer, Microsoft Office Professional suite, and SharePoint;
  • Demonstrated high level of personal motivation;
  • Experience collaborating within a multi-discipline/ matrixed global organisation;
  • Ability to travel interstate and/or overseas when required.
  • Experience and understanding of the administration and management of Australian Defence Contracts (Desirable);
  • Meets prerequisites or has an Australian Defence Clearance (Desirable); and,
  • Tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent professional qualifications in business or law preferred (Desirable).
