Infrastructure Services Branch (ISB) provides quality infrastructure services to the department. ISB is a highly motivated, energetic and results orientated team focused on delivering flexible, innovative and responsive infrastructure solutions.
ISB contributes to teaching and learning outcomes in schools by aligning facilities services to whole of government initiatives and departmental priorities. Core functions include policy formulation, strategic planning, program formation, project delivery and performance reporting.
As the Senior Facilities Services Officer, School Transport Policy you will have responsibility for the following:
- Develop, maintain and monitor strategic networks between the branch, clients, stakeholders and service providers for the purpose of achieving and sustaining a high level of client satisfaction.
- Actively participate in the development and implementation of policy and procedure improvements by undertaking a broad range of activities, which includes identifying any opportunities to streamline business processes and develop more efficient business models, policies and procedures in line with recognised best practice.
- Undertake research, analysis and evaluation to identify and define issues and changes to support business improvements.
- Provide high level advice and information across school transport assistance, disability and safety related issues, with a strong focus on client centric services and support to staff in schools, regional teams and the wider community.
- Communicate advice in a clear, consistent and concise manner to assist internal and external stakeholders in the resolution of challenging and sensitive school transport assistance matters.
- Manage and implement mapping solutions to support effective business delivery through aligned data systems across the department and with identified external stakeholders.
- Develop, maintain and monitor financial management systems to support the delivery of school transport assistance to state and non-state students.
- Prepare ministerial and general correspondence, briefings, reports and submissions on school transport issues and represent the department at external forums.
- Contribute to a multi-disciplinary team in a challenging, equitable, ethical and safe work environment for all team members that encourages commitment, skill developments, professional growth and continuous improvement.
- Be responsible for the operational activities of a team and for prioritising workload to ensure that services and programs are delivered within required timeframes.
