About the business
This Council is one of Australia's fastest-growing and culturally-diverse communities located in the Northern Suburbs of Melbourne. Made up of a vibrant mix of contracts including new and established residential areas, major industrial and commercial precincts and vast expanses in rural areas and parkland. Due to internal movements, Council is now seeking a Population Health Planner to join the team ASAP on a temp basis for 3 months with view to permanency.
About the role
Reporting to Acting Coordinator Population Health, you will oversee the development, implementation and evaluation of the Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan (MPHWP) and Positive Ageing Strategy. You will also provide strategic policy and planning support to the Health and Community Wellbeing Department.
Key responsibilities include:
- Contribute to the development and implementation of key council planning documents
- Facilitate, undertake and promote strategic and responsive public and preventative health planning
- Design and implement projects that enhance the health and wellbeing objectives of Councils
- Provide advice to Management during development of Departmental policy and planning activities

Skills and experience
In order to be successful, you will ideally demonstrate the following:
- Experience in a similar role preferably in Local Government organisation
- Demonstrate ability to design and develop policies governing Population Health
- Strong report writing skills and communication skills
- As part of compliance: Working With Children Check and Police Check
- Valid Driver's License
