Kelly Services is seeking to engage with an experienced Payroll Manager for one of our government based clients in Sydney. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising the local Government payroll team and liaising with other professionals. The ideal candidate is analytical and methodical, with experience in payroll administration and deep knowledge of payroll regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the payroll team including provision of coaching and training to
ensure high standards of service and technical knowledge are developed and
maintained.
- Coordinate timekeeping and payroll systems in a weekly and fortnightly basis
- Oversee processing of payroll changes (e.g. new hires, terminations, raises) and system upgrades
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and internal policies
- Supervise and coach payroll clerks and assistants
Criteria for Selection:
- Proven experience as a payroll manager or similar role
- Extensive experience in managing a payroll function, with particular emphasis on
weekly and fortnightly payroll and interpretation of complex Industrial Instruments.
- Excellent understanding of multi-location payroll and taxes
- Familiarity with payroll software CHRIS21 is highly regarded
- Ability to manage a fluctuating workload and stick to timeframes
- Strong Attention to detail
