About the business
This council is located in one of Sydney's most beautiful areas with a large touristic presence that gives it a buzzing atmosphere with a numbers of cafes, bars & shops. The council are keen to get someone on ASAP and believe this will be an ongoing contract rolling into a permanent for the right candidate.
About the role
You will carry out functions associated with the administration of the requirements of the Building Act and its Regulations, assisting in the development and delivery of an effective and efficient building service that maintains a high standard of customer service. This will include assisting in the administration and enforcement of all statutory functions prescribed in the Building Act, and its associated regulations, and all other applicable building legislation and guidelines. You will undertake inspections, investigations and compliance audits of buildings, building work and places of public entertainment.
Skills and experience
As an experienced, building surveyor you will have:
- Registration as a Building Surveyor (Unlimited) with the Building Practitioners Board
- Tertiary qualifications in building surveying
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills along with people, financial and risk management abilities
- Past Experience of working within Local Council
- A commitment to outstanding customer service and continuous improvement.
