About us

The Lifelong Learning Program consists of a range of regular free and affordable activities and school holiday activities delivered at Council’s community centres and other locations across the Cumberland local government area. Programs aim to promote opportunities for the community to experiences based around their general interests, cultures, stories or to promote social inclusion, connectedness, general wellbeing and participation in community life. Programs below are listed as examples: Council is open to the development of new programs not currently listed. Programs of a commercial nature or underpinned by a business/sale model are not eligible for consideration.

 

Facilitators/instructors are sought in areas such as (but not limited to):

  • Health & Fitness (example: Zumba, Hip-Hop, Belly dancing, Yoga, Pilates etc.)  
  • Art & Culture (example: Singing, Drama, Candle making, Jewellery making , Writing etc.)
  • Cooking (example: Baking, Cake decorating, Cooking etc.)
  • Children’s Programs (example: craft activities, robotics and creative play, Acting and drama etc.)
  • Education & Learning (example: Language teaching, woodwork, practical knowledge, computer and technology courses etc.)  
  • Social inclusion & Participation (example: Social groups, Gardening clubs , Knitting club, games competitions etc.)

 

Application & Selection Process

Facilitators must be able to demonstrate suitable qualifications and experience in their area of expertise and to complete an Expression of Interest Form which includes a program outline, target audience, duration of program, resources for program, availability, referees and proposed fees. Facilitators will need to agree to Council’s Ethical Conduct, Terms of Trade, Facilitator Agreement, Facilitators Responsibilities and Council Responsibilities.  Shortlisted applicants may be required to complete a Working With Children Check if relevant. The register is intended to provide essential documentation for consideration for delivery of lifelong learning programs each Term.
