Position Summary:
The Senior Child Protection Practitioner (Supervisory) has a commitment to develop and support the Child Protection Practitioners in the integration of theory and practice whilst demonstrating their expertise through case practice and the supervision of child protection practitioners. The Senior Child Protection Practitioner will work collaboratively with the Team Manager to strengthen case practice, to provide effective service delivery and to support other practitioners.
The Senior Child Protection Practitioner (Non Supervisory) is a valued senior member of the team and works collaboratively with the Team Manager to provide to provide effective service delivery and to support other practitioners. While maintaining a full case lead, this challenging yet rewarding position's responsibilities include the receiving and assessing of reports of alleged abuse and neglect of children and young people, providing guidance and expertise in relation to highly sensitive cases and challenging issues, the preparation of documentation to make recommendations to the Children's Court of Victoria and other relevant courts and as a senior member of the team providing support and mentoring to less experienced child protection practitioners.
These roles may at times be required to operate outside normal office hours (at night and on weekends and public holidays) with relevant overtime or time in lieu provisions applying. Rural employees may be required to participate in an on call roster.
