The Organisation:
This agency provides crucial services and policies that impact every Australian and the economy. This department is renowned for looking after their employees and ensuring career growth is a major focus. You will be working in a what is essentially an “internal consultancy or change PMO running projects or supporting others to apply User Centred Design approaches to delivering lasting results.
The Opportunity:
This is an opportunity to be involved and lead a range of user- centred design projects across the Department. You will be involved in high profile strategic projects including understanding what does the future of “X” look like?
You will work closely with internal policy and program areas as well as directly with user groups and relevant external stakeholders.
The Role:
The successful candidate will have:
- Proven ability to lead projects using user-centred design (or similar) approaches - including using a range of techniques to undertake user research, prototyping and user testing.
- Demonstrated project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proven ability to apply user-centred approaches in a government policy development context (or similar) and understanding of relevant sensitivities and constraints.
- Demonstrated presentation and workshop facilitation skills including the ability to effectively synthesise insights from a range of stakeholders.
- Ability to lead multi-disciplinary project teams and mentor both designers and non-designers in user-centred design approaches.
The Person:
You are a strategic thinker with the ability to develop solutions outside of the box. You bring experience in leading design initiatives and developing change, and you get a real kick out of mentoring and educating people in user centred design approaches.
The Salary/Rate:
$75 - $100/hr + Super
*Initial 6 or up to 12 month contracts
