Ongoing growth within the resource sector has created an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary resources team in the Perth office.
Role
Reporting to the Principal Structural Engineer, we are looking for a team oriented and experienced structural engineer with resource sector experience particularly in Marine and/or Rail projects. The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering resource projects with the support of other members of our team. The role will involve technical engineering, project management and business development. Suitably experienced individuals would be provided with the opportunity to lead and manage engineering and technical staff on a number of Resource projects.
Qualifications
We are seeking a qualified senior structural engineer with engineering qualifications that are recognised by Engineers Australia and eligible for MIEAust. Chartered status is highly desirable.
Experience
We envisage that the successful candidate will have a minimum of eight years’ experience in the management and design of structural engineering within resource projects. Experience in building client relationships and preparing and submitting project proposals is also considered desirable.
Duties
Technical Engineering
- Contribute to concept and scheme development, particular for marine and / or bridge structures
- Liaise with other disciplines in developing design solutions
- Perform detailed design calculations
- Prepare sketches and review drawings
- Check calculations
- Undertake site inspections
- Safety and Constructability reviews
- Author and Review Technical Reports
- Design Management on small to medium scale projects
- Manages elements of any project under supervision
Business Development & Operations
- Identify new opportunities and follow on work
- Develop proposals and bids on small to medium scale projects
- Support proposals, bids and negotiations on major projects Builds direct relationships with managers in client organisations
- Leads internal business improvement activities
