The GHD Resource Engineering Service Group currently is seeking a talented engineer to step up into a Lead Structural Engineer role.
 
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly talented individual wanting to develop their career in a rewarding role with direct reports, where they can develop their leadership, project management, client management and business development skills as well as build on their technical capability.
 
The successful candidate will be a passionate and hardworking self-starter with a client first delivery approach and solid experience in the WA mining industry, must be able to develop good working relationships with team members and clients and play a crucial role in the continued growth of the Structural team within a challenging, dynamic market.
 
The responsibilities of the role requires the successful candidate to have the following capabilities and experience:
 
Business Development

• Strong networks and client contacts in the mining market place
• Hands on experience in the preparation of successful engineering bids and proposals within the West Australian mining industry 
• Ability to maintain and build a work stream for the team with a view to growing the size and capability of the group

Management & Leadership

• Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills combined with a keen focus on client service as well as internal and external working relationships and networking skills 
• Track record in design leadership, project and engineering management, and successful delivery of multi-disciplined engineering and drafting teams 
• Proficient understanding and experience in the training, mentoring and development of young professionals and graduates 
• Ability to manage key client relationships and stakeholder management

Technical

• Demonstrated understanding of current engineering principals and standards
• Experience with industrial and fixed plant materials handling structures
• Experience conducting site integrity audits
• Experience with asset integrity management is highly desirable
• Design structures to Australian Standards using Space Gass or similar programs. Experience in Strand7, Robot (inc FEA), ANSYS, ETABs and Staad Pro is desirable

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor of Civil Engineering (minimum) with CPEng or a qualification in Project Management highly regarded
• Minimum 10 years? experience in industrial structural design projects
• Experience with WA's mining companies is essential, particularly with Iron Ore producers. Additionally experience in Gold, Nickel, Copper and Lithium will be highly regarded
