 THE ROLE

GHD’s Water Group is expanding. We have an exciting opportunity for a Team Lead – Water Systems to join our Brisbane based team. This role requires a motivated, experienced and innovative engineer to provide team leadership in the areas of planning and designing water and wastewater infrastructure. The successful candidate will work closely with the group manager to win and deliver work as well as mentor, challenge and support an enthusiastic team of engineers to ensure our client’s projects are effectively delivered.

 GHD is adapting quickly and co-creating fresh ways of thinking to realise the immense growth opportunities that the digital era offers. Our Water Group is involved in the development of new digital service offerings and experience or interest in this field would be desirable.

Specifically, your duties will include:

•  Maintaining a strong service-driven profile with major clients and develop water system related services with existing and new clients
•  Managing and mentoring a dynamic team in professional development and client service, supporting career development by promoting exposure that aligns with aspirations, capability and new directions 
• Supporting the Service Group Manager in the day-to-day business of delivering safe, innovative, leading practice and profitable projects aligned with KPI's
• Supporting other areas of the business specifically in delivering multi-disciplinary project elements related to water infrastructure and supporting our broad regional office presence 
• Driving the development and growth of the team’s water infrastructure design capability
• Ensuring client satisfaction on projects, managing teams and resources to ensure projects are delivered on time and meeting cost and quality objectives. 

•  Minimum 10 years’ technical experience in planning and designing water infrastructure
• Attained Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) status or have satisfied the qualification and competency requirements to be eligible for registration.  
• Experience leading a team of planning and design engineers and technical officers with proven ability to develop highly effective teams. 
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple complex programs simultaneously across multiple disciplines and teams
• Proven ability to influence strategically and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and clients at all levels
• Proven experience building effective relationships with the ability to develop new service opportunities to maintain a healthy workload.
