ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a dynamic and driven Senior Engineer looking for the next step in their career to join our thriving Melbourne Mechanical team.

This role is suitable for a qualified candidate with substantial experience working on commercial heating, ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) building projects in a wide variety of significant projects with a predominant focus large data centre projects. 

You will be expected to manage your own projects with minimal supervision and be able to work independently to deadlines, with an ability to work on a number of different projects at different stages of completion.

The role will enable the successful candidate to develop in a professional and personal sense and to forge a challenging and rewarding in career path in a successful consultancy.  The role is aimed towards a person who wants to grow towards operating independently in both winning and delivering work while managing their own team.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Heat Load and Engineering System calculations
• Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning design, in accordance with WGE quality standards
• Assisting Project Engineers
• Specification and report writing
• Site and building surveys
• Carrying out site superintendence, and contract administration duties
• Adhere to professional standards, ethics and WGE quality procedure
• Specification and report writing.
• Site and building surveys
• Attending project meetings

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Mechanical Engineering Degree
• Code compliance requirements
• Data Centre HVAC Design and Implementation Experience
• Experience in the data centre environments is essential
• Experience in FAT’s and IST would be a significant benefit
• Working knowledge of Uptime Institute certification requirements
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Positive, can-do attitude
• Ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines
• Previous experience in a similar role highly desirable
• The ability to use initiative and think outside the box
