About the business
WIRSOL are a leading player in the Renewable Energy sector, specialising in the development, construction and operation of Solar Photovoltaic systems, with projects spanning across UK, Northern Ireland, Europe and most recently Australia. We currently have 5 solar farms and an energy storage system in construction or operation in Australia and a large pipeline of further developments.
Tasks
Reporting to the Technical Manager in Australia this role will be responsible for:
- Supporting the development of new solar and storage projects including selection of sites, technology and contractors.
- Providing technical assistance to the project managers throughout the construction phase of the projects.
- Establishing project schedules and budgets, ensuring conformity with specifications and plans, with laws, regulations and safety standards
- Review of engineering and construction proposals from EPC contractors and assisting with negotiation of the technical aspects of these contracts.
- Provide technical inputs into financial modelling of the developments and solar farms.
- Managing third party consultants to facilitate the due diligence processes and ongoing reporting requirements with Lenders and other stakeholders.
Skills and experience
- A minimum of 4 years of experience within the utility scale solar and/or energy storage system industry internationally
- Bachelor's Degree and/or Masters in Electrical Engineering, Photovoltaics, Renewable Energy, or related.
- Knowledge of solar modules, inverters and utility scale solar farm design and commissioning requirements.
- Understanding of EPC, O&M and PPA contract structures, preferably with experience in the negotiation of EPC and O&M contractual terms and drafting of technical schedules.
