We require:
A motivated Project Engineer to co-ordinate estimating on multiple projects from the KAEFER Maicon Geraldton offices in regards to works being carried out within the Mining and Maintenance Services and associated Industries.
The role will be responsible for coordinating works between sites, and our workshop, both in Geraldton. KAEFER Maicon's scopes of works are primarily mechanical and industrial services so experience or exposure to the estimating and application of these materials, as well as solid experience in piping would be advantageous.
Profile
The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years working experience within the steel fabrication, mineral processing plant and associated pipework or mechanical sectors. You will be confident in the skills of Project Engineering and have demonstrated experience in engineering in both construction and maintenance environments.
You must have strong financial acumen and communication skills. It is also preferred that you will have had a similar role in Project Engineering and utilized planning software with preference to Primavera Contractor or P6.
Role Description
Your responsibilities will include:
Ensure works are carried out to required health, safety, environmental and quality requirements
Ensure all works compliant with relevant Australian standards
Responsible for coordination of works within the estimation team
Prepare and deliver time and material estimates and lump sum quotations
Act as the Bid Leader on larger tenders where there are multiple inputs to ensure all deliverables are obtained with a view to submitting a complete and professional submission
Provision of technical advice to assist the estimation team with submissions
Management and coordination of internal review processes with appropriate management according to Delegation of Authority
Facilitate job handover process between the estimator and the execution team
Ensure all quality documentation pertaining is completed as per the Project Quality Management Plan
Provide accurate, timely and production forecasts, detailing progress to date, and performance against targets;
Assist with continual improvement of the internal systems and processes in the estimation and execution areas
Site checks to ensure contract works are being performed to the required specifications
Liaising with the client and ensuring follow up with regular reporting and updates as required.
Identify and report commercial and financial risks;
Ensure close out and billing details are reviewed and provided to admin for processing in a timely manner on job completion
Facilitate post job reviews
Requirements
· Minimum of 5 to 10 years relevant experience, preferably within the Construction, Maintenance, Oil & Gas industry. Major projects experience would be a major advantage
· Experience with leading a team.
· Excellent communication skills; strong written English skills
· Experience with estimating, day rates and schedule rates.
· Strong computer skills in Microsoft office particularly Excel.
· An aptitude and appetite for continuous learning;
· Willingness to travel and fulfill remote site secondments as required;
· Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
· Performs with a high level of professionalism, accuracy, tact and integrity due to the high degree of exposure to confidential data
· Strong interpersonal, teamwork and organisational skills
· Detailed oriented, forward thinking and proactive;
· Ability to multi-task and work under pressure to meet deadlines;
