An opportunity has arisen for Senior Acoustic Engineer to join our Melbourne team. This is a key role in growing the Acoustics discipline and will see you managing client relationships and exhibiting both technical expertise and business acumen. This is an autonomous role and an exciting opportunity to work and manage a wide of projects across diverse sectors.
The Role
- Plan and manage delivery of a diverse range of Acoustic projects ensuring goals and objectives are accomplished
- Provide technical leadership, guidance and support to junior staff to increase their skill level, development and growth
- Provide acoustic design advice in accordance with relevant standards, codes and guidelines
- Undertake various modelling tasks using industry software, instrumentation and specific tools
- Conduct measurements and analysis of room acoustics, theatre planning and audio-visual systems for building design / planning
- Assist with the drafting of task scope and fee proposals
- Develop strong client relationships including liaising and negotiating with clients and industry professionals and creating opportunities for business growth
- Prepare and present presentations to prospective clients / industry events to promote service offerings
Skills and Experience
- Have a tertiary qualification in Acoustics Engineering or related technical discipline
- 8+ years' experience and proven track record in acoustic assessment, noise and vibration measurement and understanding of Acoustic Control principals
- Commercially aware with a flexible attitude to both the type of work to be undertaken and the level of responsibility accepted
- Business development acumen and professional presentation skills
- Operating as a strong technical team member with a demonstrated history of successful project management experience
- Self-motivated, dedicated and proactive with a passion for detail
- Demonstrated excellence in providing high quality client service
- Good organisational and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well under pressure
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- An aptitude for solving problems in innovative ways
