Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, you will be accountable for leading a small project engineering team ensuring on time delivery of engineering support and projects to a broad internal customer group. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Plan and manage mechanical design activities to align with project goals and objectives.
  • Determine project management needs and provide solutions to assist in the successful completion of projects.
  • Review client specifications, assess and prepare technical exceptions, confirm design for tenders and support final tenders for submission to clients.
  • Ensure a culture of continual improvement is adopted into the department and promote innovation and lean philosophies to all aspects of the engineering design.
  • Produce engineering documentation including but not limited to manuals, reports, calculation sheets, departmental procedures.
  • Work with the stakeholders to understand the design principles of the current systems and ensure that knowledge is captured within the Schenck Process Vibrating Equipment team.

Position requirements:

  • Bachelors of Engineering (Mechanical) 
  • Minimum five years engineering experience with more than two in a project engineering role
  • Proven experience in leading small teams
  • Sound knowledge of vibrating equipment design focusing on mechanical and dynamic components
  • Ability to lead and develop professional documentation and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work to deadlines
  • Experience of delivering a large number of parallel project requirements through others
  • Good understanding of  safety in design requirements
  • Experience with SAP in regards to material master and BOM creation as well as project MRP process
