About the business and the role

We are a wholesale distributor of machine tools from around the world and have a strong operations and service team located throughout Australia to support our customers.
For over 10 years we have been the exclusive distributor for one of the world's leading manufacturers of vertical storage carousels and vertical lift modules (automated warehouse systems).
The role will suit an energetic and highly motivated person with a strong engineering background.
Job tasks and responsibilities
- Repair, refurbish, recondition, maintain, install, test and fault find mechanical and electrical faults on machinery of Headland customers;
- In depth working and technical knowledge of vertical storage carousels and vertical lift modules
- Based in Sydney with a willingness to travel interstate and overseas
- Build and maintain positive service relationships with Headland customers, to ensure that customer satisfaction objectives set by the business are met and exceeded
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics and other written technical instructions
- Participate in machinery installations, break fix repair, maintenance and exhibitions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, combined with a genuine commitment to high level customer service
Skills and experience
- A background involving automated vertical storage systems would be highly advantageous
- Experience in a similar role is desirable
- Strong mechanical aptitude with a Diploma/Degree involving Mechanical or Electro-mechanical Engineering.
- Relevant trade tickets and licenses
- Willngness to learn new skills
- Ability to work under pressure to deadlines
- Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
- Skills in elevator and lift industries would be advantageous
