Wood is currently recruiting a Principal Electrical Engineer to join our growing engineering team. Reporting into the Lead Electrical Engineer, the successful candidate will successful candidate will have a strong background in Design Engineering in Electrical discipline with familiarity performing a senior role on brownfields oil and gas projects. 

We aim to provide engineering solutions exceeding our clients’ expectations, delivering on time and on budget and in line with the agreed project technical requirements.  This role is based in our Perth CBD office. 

At this time, we will only consider applications from Australian citizens or those with the required permit/VISA for this region, in place.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

• Responsible for planning, co-ordinating and directing a major segment or technical aspect of the engineering related activities within a project
• Directly responsible for the performance of Senior Engineers and Lead Designer within the project team
• Ensure effective communication and interface definition between all disciplines for design development, review and check processes
• Required to make decisions on engineering problems and methods, demonstrating creativity, foresight and mature engineering judgment
• Provide detailed discipline engineering input during all design phases, including interpretation of standards
• Provide highest quality discipline input into conceptual design teams
• Lead discipline specific design reviews and participate in other discipline design reviews as appropriate

ABOUT YOU:

• Minimum of 12 years engineering experience
• Degree in Electrical engineering
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with management, the client, supporting disciplines
• Demonstrate developed leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide teams
• High level of organizational and time management skills
• Ability to manage, implement and adapt to change
