From delivering Australia’s largest wind farm to being the country’s leading contractor for road duplications, to being a long-term partner on major nationwide infrastructure projects such as NBN’s National Broadband Rollout, we deliver complex, multidisciplinary projects in numerous sectors. Because of the significant pipeline of work in the region, WBHO is looking for experienced project engineers to become part of the team delivering exciting infrastructure projects in Central Queensland.

The Project

The project includes the extension and construction of overtaking lanes, intersection upgrades, formation widening and associated safety works. The scope includes roadworks, earthworks, drainage, bitumen surfacing, traffic management and road lighting. 

Your Role

As part of the operations team based on site, you will be working closely with the project manager to ensure project objectives are met on time with respect to cost, safety and quality. 

These roles are open to suitably qualified and experienced locals of the area or as a FIFO/DIDO option on a roster basis. You will be required to work Mon-Fri, with every second Saturday. These positions commence immediately. 

Key Tasks

  • Implement project planning, programming and resourcing
  • Managed all allocated works from concept to completion within time frames
  • Assist with project reports and general cost control activities 
  • Co-Ordinate activities to ensure they are integrated into the project and that the client receives satisfactory standards of service
  • Estimate the costs, resources and time required to complete the assigned phase of the project.
  • Manage project controls and reporting to the client
  • Maintain program timelines and identify any issues that may arise
  • Variation management
  • Manage OHSE & QA specifications
  • Contracts Administration

Requirements

  • 3+ years' experience in executing similar works on TMR projects
  • Hold a relevant Engineering Degree
  • Ability to grow and maintain strong relationships through excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding organisation and time management skills
  • Strong grasp of cost reporting
