The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated Draftsperson – Electrical Compliance to join our Operational Compliance team, on site at Cape Preston. This is a permanent position, on a 2/1 roster, FIFO from Perth.
The incumbent will assist the site team with the development and implementation of an electrical compliance system, as well as create, manage and maintain the integrity of the electrical drawings on site going forward. Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Preparation of Electrical schematics for projects
- Design, modification, upgrade and maintenance of PLC systems
- Review and produce bill of materials from drawings and manuals
- Assist in the review of electrical proposals
- Support mobilization and review of electrical contractors completing electrical installations onsite
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience as an electrical draftsperson in mining or heavy industry
- Hold a relevant diploma or trade certification
- Be proficient in CAD or similar software with experience in electrical drawings
- The ability to work efficiently and effectively in a team to meet deadlines
- Ability to problem solve effectively
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical, literacy and numerical skills
- Sound technical knowledge of electrical design principals
- Strong understanding of Australian and International Standards
- Commitment to Health & Safety in the workplace
- A WA electrical licence (unrestricted) is desirable but not essential for the role
- A current manual WA drivers licence is essential
- A copy of all current qualifications / licences must be provided at the time of interview
