We currently have an exciting newly created full time permanent opportunity for an experienced and Senior Electrical/Electronic Engineer to join our high performing Marine Division. This position will be based in our facility at Techport, Osborne

About the Role

Reporting into the Engineering Team Leader the Senior Electrical/Electronic Engineer is responsible for providing electrical and electronic engineering support to the Maritime business unit programmes. The role will collaborate effectively with all program and project management staff in order to facilitate engineering change and product development efficiently and in line with all internal and external stakeholder requirements.

Key responsibilities are as follows:

• Provision of electrical / electronic engineering agreed deliverables to meet project and program milestones.
• Advise sustainment program of any electrical / electronic engineering issues affecting refurbishment activities
• Provision of remediation plans to support sustainment program, ensuring they meet cost and schedule requirements detailed by the program.
• Provision of electrical / electronic engineering Point of contact and liaison for internal and external customers and subcontractors working on Maritime programs
• Complete engineering estimates in support of bids and proposals for electrical / electronic opportunities.
• Provision of electrical equipment interface advice to mechanical engineering team.
• Electrical / electronic system design for high integrity control systems.

About You

This role will align with an experienced Electrical or Electronic Engineer that has a proven track record of delivery within a defence, manufacturing or technical engineering organisation. You will be experienced in a technical engineering environment and will possess degree level engineering qualifications and have experience in specification and design of complex high integrity control systems. Previous experience of Maritime electronic control systems (preferably in Navy platforms) would be highly desirable as would exposure to Siemens Team Centre. Additionally you will be a confident team player that has a passion for identifying and driving change and enjoys working within a team environment but can also work autonomously as required. You will have exceptional time management and organisational experience coupled with an ability to prioritise, plan and organise your work load and timeframes with a strong attention to detail. The successful candidate will have high level computer skills and have a proven ability to adapt and learn new systems and processes quickly.

The successful candidate must hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance
